…of the Blue-Footed type.
By the way…Dad…if you are reading this you have a great hat coming your way…love you.The Galapagos is probably one of the few places where you can constantly say “I love boobies” and no one will be offended and everyone will know you are talking about Blue-Footed Boobies. Although technically Blue-Footed Boobies are present in other locations, I had not heard of them until I started planning my trip here.
Their bright blue feet are quite unique and also makes them easy to spot along the rocky shores of the Galapagos Islands. The color seems so unnatural.
Shark Alley
We snorkeled here and although the visibility was horrible just knowing hundreds of sharks were below us was a bit intimidating. Our guide said to stay close together and boy did we heed his advise…we were practically snorkeling on top of each. Since I have not shark photos to share, here’s a Blue-Footed Booby instead.

Nazca Booby
While not as distinctive in color, the Nazca Booby is still a beautiful bird.
