This is the second photography workshop I participated in, instructed by Irene of IJ Photo. We spent four hours wandering around the University of Washington Arboretum taking several types of nature photography (macro, landscapes, and even portraits within a nature setting). We even used exposure compensation to do some bracketing that I later turned into my very first HDR images (I definitely have a long way to go with this technique). It’s not too late, Irene will be leading workshops again in the spring at Mill Creek Parks & Recreation (search for an exact match on “photo workshop”).

Glad you liked the portrait…portraits are the bane of my photography existence. I really don’t like taking them and I find them so frustrating, but everyone wants to know if I do portraits.
In this case, the lighting was perfect and the instructor/model (being a portrait photographer herself) knew exactly how we should setup the shot.
