Canvas Prints

I have an upcoming opportunity to display some of my photos in a couple of local restaurants.  I’ve decided to print on canvas, so lately I’ve been on a mission to find a place that will print quality and not cost me an arm and a leg, since I’ll need 30 large canvases.

My latest find is Printcopia.  I took one of my favorite grizzly photos and tried them out.  It was a good experiment.  Not only did I find their quality and prices more than acceptable, I learned a bit about my editing.  I tend to like my colors to be richer and darker.  I found that darker might not me the best answer for printing.  I also tried colored edges instead of wrapping the image (I did this because I didn’t think my image would look good wrapped).  What I now realize is that wrapping the edge of the canvas with the image is a much more professional look.

I also tried another company.  Their quality was good, but their prices were outrageous.

So, between now and April I need to choose photos, get them printed, and then install them.  When the time gets closer, I will be sure to let everyone know where they can go to see my photos.

Have any of you ordered canvas prints?  If so, what company did you use and what did you think?

GrizzlyDisclosure:  Printcopia provided me a free 8 x 10 canvas print and even so my opinion regarding their quality and pricing is my own.  Printcopia also provides vinyl banners, car magnets, and yard signs through their sister companies.
